

Kat Chan
Set Designer, Costume Designer
Kat Chan (she/her) is an award-winning theatre designer for theatre, dance, video installation and photography, living and working on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people. Originally trained as an architect, Kat has worked in practices in Adelaide and Tokyo before returning to Australia to study Master of Production Design at VCA.

Drawings of Kat’s costume designs are also featured in the archives of the Beleura House Collection.
Kat won a Green Room Award for Outstanding Costume Design for The Lifespan of a Fact and has tutored Performance Design at the Victorian College of the Arts.
She is a recipient of the Trina Parker Scholarship, Sir George Tallis Design Award, Noel Pelly Fund Travel Scholarship, has been artist in residence at the Lock-Up Cultural Centre, participant of the Women in Theatre Program at Melbourne Theatre Company and former Co-Chair of the Green Room Awards Theatre Companies panel.
