A Spring Song

By Ray Mathew

18 November 1985 – 07 December 1985 Studio Theatre

Playbox Theatre Company,

Theatre

The story of a farming family, the Dennisons, a fiercely possessive and proud father and an equally protective but affectionate mother and their three daughters - the tragic Margaret who returns home to die, Helen returning to celebrate her marriage, and Kerry, the youngest, whose self-appointed task is to care for her ageing parents. Their home, a small isolated property in northern NSW, is the focus of their lives, but unlike Chekhov's three sisters, each wants to get away.

For this production, Jennie Tate designed the largest set built by Playbox to date, stretching the entire length of the Studio space (now Fairfax) at the Arts Centre.
