A white woman picks up a middle class Black man on the New York subway. Her initial flirtation changes to taunts and abruptly to mind and body violence. Written in 1964, this heavily symbolic one-act play by Amiri Baraka (formerly LeRoi Jones) explores the depth of race hatred and racial oppression in the American psyche.
This production was staged as a late show.
